Wisconsin Badgers Womens Basketball Information
The Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball team represents the university in the Big Ten Conference in the NCAA's top division of collegiate basketball. The Kohl Center on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus is the home game venue. Before the Kohl Center was built, the Wisconsin Badgers played home games at the Wisconsin Field House.
Stone led the Badgers to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament in the 2009–10 season when they finished with a 21–11 record and were eliminated by Vermont (64–55) in the first round. In Stone's last season (2010-2011), the Badgers went 16-15 overall, 10-6 in the Big Ten, and back to the WNIT, where they were eliminated by Illinois State (62-59) in the second round.
2014-2015, the team finished with a 9-20 record, good for 11th in the league. In Kelsey's sixth season as head coach, his team went 7-22 overall and finished last place in the league. Kelsey's final record was 47-100, and she was released on March 4, 2016.
Badgers women's basketball hired Jonathan Tsipis, a man, as their first-ever head coach on March 31. At George Washington University, he led the team as head coach. He was fired after a 67-42 loss to Illinois in the tournament's first round on March 9, 2021. After five years, his total record was 50-99.
On March 25, 2021, Marisa Moseley was named the team's new head coach.
