Zach Person is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Austin, Texas. His sound is mostly inspired by indie-soul, refined-rock, whereas his music incorporates different genres such as blues, rock, soul, and pop. His roots stem from the east coast as he was born in New Jersey and then moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina, while he was just three years old. At the age of 10, Person started studying guitar under the direction of Baxter Clement. His family once again relocated to the gulf coast city of Houston, Texas. At the time, he was 13. In Houston, Person started songwriting and performing for Texas crowds and across the region.
Person currently resides in Austin, Texas, where he rehearses and records when off the road. He competed on season 15 of American Idol on FOX television in 2016. He left the show at the top 24 decision, and soon after that, he returned to his home in Houston and began pursuing his career. He has shared the stage with many artists for years, such as Harry Connic JR, Keith Urban, Buddy Guy, and many more. Person performed as Amazon Web Services’ first live band for their annual reinvent conference at the Las Vegas Fairgrounds in November 2018.
