Year Of The Cobra Information
Year of the Cobra is an American psychedelic doom power duo that is currently based in Seattle, Washington. The band has been playing actively since 2015 and has gained a massive following through performing and touring at different festivals in a very short period. The group has worked with a few record labels so far, including Solid 7, Devil’s Child, STB, H42, Magnetic Eye, and Prophecy Productions. The current lineup of the group includes Amy Tung Barrysmith and Johannes Barrysmith.
Year of the Cobra presented their first live performance on January 21, 2015, at the High Dive in Seattle. The band members have performed with other groups as well at Klawfest. These groups included Mother Crone, The Deathless, and Brume. On June 24, 2015, the band released their debut extended play entitled “The Black Sun.”
The Year of the Cobra was discovered by Doomed & Stoned that helped them to gain more audience. This led the duo to eventually embark on their debut North American Tour with Mos Generator. The band has released several other albums such as Gamma/Hydra/The Siege (2016), In the Shadows Below (2016), Burn Your Dead (2017), The Descent (2018), and Ash and Dust (2019).
