Westside Boogie (August 30, 1989) is an American rapper. He was born in Compton, California. With his mother's encouragement, boogie's musical career began when he joined the choir at the First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in the eighth grade. He got introduced to gangbang while in the choir and gradually switched from gospel to rap.
Thirst 48, his debut mixtape, which detailed his life and difficulties, was released on June 24, 2013. After his debut, The Reach, his ground-breaking mixtape, was released on June 24, a year later. In 2015, he inked a contract with Interscope Records. Jahlil Beats produced "Oh My," his breakthrough track, released in 2015. Thirst 48, Pt. II, a follow-up to his debut mixtape from 2014 that also addresses new issues, such as Millennials' reliance on social media, was published by Boogie in 2016 via Interscope Records.
It was revealed that Boogie had joined Shady Records in October 2017. He appeared in the digital Detroit Cypher for the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards and joined Eminem in his solo freestyle. In December 2017, he had "Violence," a joint effort with Masego, as his debut Shady Records release. Two further songs were released in 2018 in response to the initial one, "Self Destruction" in May and "Deja Vu" in August. Rihanna, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar have all praised him.
