Warren and Flick Information
Warren and Flick investigate the complex textures that a two-person ensemble can achieve. This group discovers unexpected depth in the seeming simplicity of a pair by performing both original works and arranged versions of standards drawn from a wide range of musical genres.
Jacob Warren plays the double bass, and Grant Flick is responsible for the violin, tenor guitar, and mandolin parts of the band. They first connected at the 2015 Acoustic Music Seminar (AMS), which invited just sixteen young string players from all over the world to take part in a week of intensive improvisation, composition, and performance instruction.
The two musicians are currently living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The multi-instrumentalist Mike Marshall and the guitarist Julian Lage are in charge of AMS, which is a group that performs at the Savannah Music Festival in the state of Georgia.
