Volumes Information
Volumes is an American progressive metalcore band. They are based in Los Angeles, California. The current lineup consists of Nick Ursich (drummer), Myke Terry (vocalist), Michael Barr (vocalist), and Raad Soudani (bassist). Daniel Braunstein, Diego, and Gus Farias started the band in 2009, and their first EP, The Concept of Dreaming, was released in 2010. Their debut album, Via, was released in 2011, and their sophomore album, No Sleep, was released in 2014. On the iTunes Rock and Metal charts, both albums reached number 1.
Volumes have "bouncy" guitar riffs, groove-driven breakdowns, nu-metal influences, and twin lead vocalists, among other things. The band has been linked to groove metal and credited as a major contribution to the djent scene.
Raad Soudani, the band's bassist, has been the only constant throughout its career. Volumes were announced as part of Arsonists Get All the Girls' spring headline tour on May 15, 2011, alongside A Plea for Purging, Lionheart, and The Contortionist. The band was announced as a part of the summer's 'Slaughter Survivors Tour' with Conducting from the Grave, The Contortionist, Scale the Summit, and Rings of Saturn on the 23rd. On June 10, 2011, the band shared the stage alongside Arsonists Get All the Girls and Failure in Vanity during a gig in New Jersey.
