Thomas Tyrone "Tye" Tribbett (January 26, 1976) is a pianist, vocalist, and composer specializing in gospel music. He was born in Camden, New Jersey. In addition to being a choir conductor, he is the creator of the gospel ensemble Tye Tribbett & G.A., which was nominated for a Grammy and won a Stellar Award. G.A. is an abbreviation for "Greater Anointing."
He spent his childhood in Camden, New Jersey, attending an Apostolic Pentecostal church. Both of his parents are ministers in the Philadelphia and New York region. His father, Bishop Thomas Tyrone Tribbett, was a pastor in the past, while his mother, Neicy Tribbett, was a disc jockey and a preacher.
In 2000, he went on tour with Faith Hill, leading to his working with artists such as Will Smith, Usher, Don Henley, Justin Timberlake, and Sting. He has released five albums since then.
After releasing his album Greater Than on August 6, 2013, he was awarded two Grammys for his artistic achievement. He released "The Bloody Win" in 2017. Another Grammy Award for Best Gospel CD was bestowed to him in 2024 for his CD titled "All Things New-Live in Orlando."
