Tropidelic Information
Tropidelic is an American band based in Cleveland, Ohio. The current lineup of the group consists of Matthew “Roads” Andrle (lead vocals and guitar), James Begin (vocals and trombone), Bobby “Chronic” Markouc (lead guitar), David “Pags” Paglisotti (bass), Rex Larkman (drums), and Derek McBryde (trumpet). Matthew Roads and Kyle Cheuvront are the founding members of Tropidelic, where Roads is still part of the group, but Cheuvront had left the band. Both founding members were jamming together in the dorms at Kent State University when they got an idea to form the band.
Tropidelic collaborated with rapper, Skillzz, in 2005 and both Cheuvront and Roads recruited him as their hype man. The band added a few more members into the group and began producing their first raw album that same year entitled Funk Love. Their following was built up when they distributed around 10,000 free copies of their first self-produced EP entitled, Rebirth of the Dope. The group’s second self-produced album, Tree City Exodus, was released in 2008. The album was named after the city of Kent’s nickname. In 2010, the band followed with another EP named Erie Vibes & Irie Tides.
Some other studio albums released by Tropidelic include All Heads Unite (2012), Police State (2015), Go Down With the Ship (2016), Heavy is the Head (2017), Here in the Heights (2019), and Of Illusion (2020). Their notable singles are “Ideal,” “If I Die Tomorrow,” “Look Forward,” “Bad Cookie,” “Too Loose,” “High and Lows,” “Bad One,” “Good Times,” “Snow Country,” “Offer It Up,” along with countless others.
