Trina Broussard Information
Katrina Broussard (October 8, 1969) is an R&B singer and songwriter. She was born in Houston, Texas. After relocating to Atlanta in 1990, she began her music career as a backup singer for artists like Bobby Brown, Pebbles, Babyface, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, and BeBe & CeCe Winans. Her debut hit was a cover of Minnie Riperton's "Inside My Love," which was on the soundtrack to the 1997 film Love Jones and went platinum. Broussard collaborated with Aretha Franklin on the popular song "Here We Go Again," released in 1998.
For a while, Jermaine Dupri had Broussard on his So So Def Label, where he helped craft hits for performers like Aretha Franklin and collaborated with other industry heavyweights. Trina's project hit a roadblock, so she signed with Motown/Universal. Featuring the hit single "Sailing," Trina Broussard's debut studio album, Inside My Love, was released in 2002. Broussard continued promoting the album with the single Love You So Much after it had minimal success.
Broussard debuted from her 2004 album Same Girl with the single Dreamin' of One. Same Girl and the album's second single, Losing My Mind, were released in June 2004. Broussard paid tribute to Michael Jackson by performing "Never Can Say Goodbye," originally performed by The Jackson 5, on her promotional tour in 2009. After that, Broussard joined Rahsaan Patterson's band as a backup singer.
