Trick Daddy Information
Maurice Samuel Young (September 27, 1974) is an American rapper. He was born in Miami, Floria. He is professionally known by his stage name, Trick Daddy. Former 2 Live Crew member Luther "Luke" Campbell's 1996 album Uncle Luke featured Trick on the single "Scarred," which was produced by Darren "DJ Spin" Rudnick. Many people liked the tune, and record labels took notice.
When Trick published his next album, www.thug.com, in 1998, he no longer went by "Dollars" as a moniker. The club-friendly single "Nann Nigga," which featured Trina, climbed to #3 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles list. After signing with Atlantic Records in 1998, Trick Daddy dropped Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47 that same year. This album's first song, "Shut Up," was a smashing success. Omar Burgess, writing about his next song, "America" (featuring Society), compared it to other sociological tracks in Trick's catalog, such as "Ain't No Santa," for its moving political content.
"I'm a Thug," from 2001's Thugs Are Us, peaked at no. Seventeen on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a smash success. His songs "In da Wind" and "Thug Holiday" were taken from his fifth studio album. The single "Let's Go," produced by Lil Jon and featuring Twista and sampling the guitar riffs from Ozzy Osbourne's smash "Crazy Train," helped launch the 2004 album Thug Matrimony: Married To The Streets.
