Todd Anthony Shaw is an American rapper and record producer. He belongs to the well-known city of Los Angeles in California. His stage name is Too Short, a well-known name in the industry. His family moved to Oakland, California, in the early 1980s. At Fremont High School in Oakland, he was a drummer in the band.
His self-produced beats were largely made on a TR-808 in the early 1990s and a TR-909 in the mid-to-late 2000s. Too Short and Freddie B. founded the Dangerous Songs label in 1985 to market his music nationally. Also, the Dangerous Crew rap group in 1986. Dangerous Music evolved into Short Records, which ultimately evolved into Up All Nite Records. He began using the established funk with his 1988 record, Life Is...Too Short.
Too Short moved to Atlanta in 1994, but it wasn't until 2000, when he teamed with Lil Jon, that he began collaborating with a wider range of Southern artists. Too Short collaborated with Daz Dillinger, Lil Jon, Soopafly, Scarface, and B-Legit in 2009. Wiz Khalifa's single "On My Level" featured the rapper in 2011. He also sang "Take U Home" on Snoop Dogg's 2011 album Doggumentary and "First Date" on 50 Cent's album.
He stated in 2013 that he would work with Lady Gaga on a song called "Jewels n' Drugs" for her next album. Artpop. T.I. and Twista are also featured on the track.
