TLC Information
TLC is an American girl group. Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins were the members of the trio. With four number-one singles—"Creep," "Waterfalls," "No Scrubs," and "Unpretty"—among their nine top-ten Billboard Hot 100 songs in the '90s, the group was a huge smash. The band also released four albums that went platinum, including CrazySexyCool (1994), which was certified diamond by the RIAA.
Regarding American girl groups, TLC is unrivaled, with 65 million records sold globally. On VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music, TLC was ranked as the best female group, placing them at number twelve. In addition to being named the sixth most successful act of the 1990s by Billboard, TLC was also named one of the best musical trios of all time. Among the group's many honors are four Grammys, five VMAs, and five Soul Train Music Awards.
The 17th MOBO Awards (for Outstanding Contribution to Music) and the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Japan (for Legend) went to TLC twenty years after the group's debut. After Lopes passed away in 2002, the surviving members decided to keep performing as a duo rather than find a replacement. Their self-titled fifth studio album, TLC, came out in 2017. Their induction into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame occurred in 2022.
