The Side Deal Information
tSd, or The Side Deal, is a band comprised of four musicians from Newport Beach, California, who came together for a shared love of making good music. Charlie Colin (Train), Stan Frazier (Sugar Ray), and Joel and Scott Owen (PawnShop kings) agreed to establish a band and make original music together after admiring each other's work for many years.
After knowing one other for many years, the lads finally came together last year when Charlie invited Stan to perform at a sold-out performance in Charlie's hometown alongside Charlie and other pals, including future inductee Jeff "Skunk" Baxter into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan. The Owen brothers emailed Stan to let him in after seeing his Instagram photo of Skunk's custom pedal steel guitar.
Very quickly after that, they found that they had a transcendent musical relationship of sound and synergy that surpassed even their previous endeavors, resulting in a surge in productivity and a strengthened friendship. Each man could see that something big was happening, something that was out of their control.
