The Quebe Sisters Band Information
The Quebe Sisters is an Americana band that is based in Dallas, Texas. The lineup of the band consists of Grace Quebe, Sophia Quebe, Hulda Quebe, Simon Stipp, and Daniel Parr, all of which plays the fiddle and sings. The group also has supporting musicians who accompany on upright bass, guitars, and other instruments. The sisters briefly studied classical violin, and in 1990 and switched to fiddle when they attended North Texas. At that time, they were attending the North Texas State Fair in Denton, Texas.
One of the sisters began playing gigs in 2000 when Red Steagall heard and invited them to perform. The Quebe Sisters released their debut album entitled “Texas Fiddlers,” which was backed by Joey McKenzie on rhythm guitar, Tom Morrell on steel guitar, and Mark Abbott on bass. The album was recorded locally in Burleson, Texas though the sisters began touring outside their home region of Oklahoma and Texas in 2004. They have also performed at the National Folk Festival then held in Bangor, Maine.
The Quebe Sisters performed with Warren Buffett in 2007 at Berkshire-Hathaway during their Annual Shareholders Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, after being invited by the Justin Brands western footwear company. Their studio albums include Texas Fiddlers (2003), Timeless (2007), Every Which-A-Way (2014), and The Quebe Sisters (2019). Their collaborations include Vice and Virtue by Jimmy Needham, Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys.
