The Lox Information
The Lox, often spelled The Lox and The L.O.X., is a Yonkers, New York-based American hip-hop band formed in 1994. Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss are all East Coast rappers that make up the group. Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Records was their first label home until they joined Ruff Ryders in 1999. They've since launched D-Block, their record label.
Hip-hop artists started in their hometown of Yonkers, New York, in 1994. They formed a band in high school and named themselves the Bomb Squad, performing at small venues and recording demos.
In 1997, The Lox gained widespread recognition after performing a duet with Sean "Puffy" Combs on his hit "It's All About the Benjamins." In 2002, their tribute to The Notorious B.I.G., "We'll Always Love Big Poppa," went multi-platinum, bringing them even more acclaim.
Later, the trio was featured on the songs "Jenny from the Block" by Jennifer Lopez, "Honey" by Mariah Carey, and "24 Hours to Live" by Mase. The RIAA recognized the group's debut album, Money, Power, and Respect, as platinum.
Following their pattern of new music releases that had started on February 28, Funkmaster Flex premiered The Lox's "New York" single on March 1, 2014. Their third studio album, Filthy America... It's Beautiful was also their first in 16 years. On December 16, 2016, D-Block Records and Roc Nation published the album.
Released in 2020, "Loyalty & Love" eventually found its way onto their fourth studio album, Living Off Xperience.
