The Hu Information
The Hu is a Mongolian folk metal band. The current lineup consists of Gala, Jaya, Enkush, and Temka. On September 13, 2019, Eleven Seven Records released The Gereg, the debut studio album by The Hu. A diplomatic passport, or gereg, dates back to the time of Genghis Khan. The group then set out on their first-ever North American tour from September to December this year.
The Metallica Blacklist, the band's thirtieth-anniversary album, had contributions from Hu and fifty-three other musicians in 2020. Released on October 1, 2021, the album features a cover version of "Through the Never" by the band. Each band participating in the record contributed their share of the proceeds to a different charity. Giving Day Charity Fund was the recipient of Hu's choice.
The video for "This Is Mongol (Warrior Souls)" was published on February 10, 2023, and it featured Alice in Chains' William DuVall on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. On March 30, they issued a "Black Thunder" remix featuring Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz of Bad Wolves and Serj Tankian of System of a Down.
