The Bulletboys Information
Bulletboys is a heavy metal group that was formed in 1986 in Los Angeles, California. The current lineup of the group consists of Marq Torien (congas, bass, guitar, and vocals), Lonnie Vencent (backing vocals and bass), Mich Sweda (backing vocals and guitar), and Jimmy D’Anda (backing vocals, percussion, and drums). These members are also the founding members of the Bulletboys, and previously they were all in the same group called “King Kobra.”
The group signed a record deal with Warner Bros and released their debut album “Bulletboys” in 1988, which reached number 34 on the Billboard 200. They also released two singles, covers of the classic O’Jays tune, including “For the Love of Money” and “Smooth Up in Ya.” Both singles were hits and reached the Mainstream Rock Chart as well as Billboard Hot 100.
Bulletboys released their second studio album on Warner Bros entitled “Freakshow” in 1991. The album peaked at number 69 on the Billboard 200. Their single entitled “Hang on St. Christopher” was a cover of the Tom Waits song. This single peaked at number 22 on the Mainstream Rock Chart. Bulletboys released their third studio album with Warner Bros in 1993 entitled “Za-Za.” Other notable studio albums for the Bulletboys include Acid Monkey (1995), Sophie (2003), 10 Billionaire (2009), Rocked and Ripped (2011), Elefante (2015), and From out of the Skies (2018).
