Thank You Scientist Information
Thank You Scientist is a progressive rock band. The current lineup consists of Kevin Grossman, Alex Blade Silver, Joe Guilace, Ben Karas, Cody McCorry, Tom Morida, and Salvatore Marrano. In the music school at New Jersey's Montclair State University, guitarist Tom Monda met saxophonist Ellis Jasenovic and trumpet player Andrew Digrius, and the three of them began playing together as Thank You Scientist.
Their appreciation for artists like Frank Zappa, Harry Nilsson, the Beatles, and Mahavishnu Orchestra would inspire the music featured on Thank You Scientist. The initial members of Thank You Scientist were vocalist Salvatore Marrano (formerly of the New Jersey rock band "Hello Eden"), bassist Greg Colacino, drummer Odin Alvarez, and violinist Russ Lynch. The band's first two releases, an EP called The Perils of Time Travel in 2011 and a full-length record called Maps of Non-Existing Places in 2012, were both self-released.
Claudio Sanchez, frontman and guitarist for the progressive metal/rock band Coheed and Cambria and founder of Evil Ink Records was impressed by the band's work. He signed them as the label's debut artist after hearing their album. In August 2014, a music video for "My Famous Disappearing Act" was available online. The record was re-issued digitally on September 16, 2014.
