Testament Information
Testament is an American thrash metal band based in Berkeley, California. It has existed since 1983, when it was called Legacy. Present members are Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar, Chuck Billy on lead vocals, Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Steve Di Giorgio on bass, and Chris Dovas on drums. Since its inception, Testament has gone through several lineup changes.
Only Peterson from the original lineup remains; however, the band has recently rejoined with Skolnick, who was absent from the group from 1992 to 2005. Lombardo stated in April 2023 that he would not perform with Testament on their 2023 tour dates due to schedule difficulties and expressed concern about his future with the band. On subsequent dates, Chris Dovas took his place; Dovas had stepped in for Lombardo on a few U.S. concerts in the autumn.
Testament supported their fourteenth studio album with a North American tour in September–October 2024 (with Possessed as the support act), then a European tour in November–December 2024 (against Kreator and Anthrax). The band will open for Behemoth on their "O Father, O Satan, O Svmmer" tour of Europe in the summer of 2024 before heading off on their tours.
