Sun Belt Womens Basketball Tournament Information
Since the 1982–83 school year, there has been an annual women's basketball tournament for the Sun Belt Conference. The champion team will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
In 2007, the Sun Belt was awarded a bid to the NCAA Tournament after the West Division regular season champion, Louisiana-Lafayette, was invited to play in the tournament despite losing in the championship game. The next year, Middle Tennessee State was invited to the NCAA tournament as an at-large team from the Sun Belt Conference. Again in 2010, Little Rock was a #1 seed in their conference tournament and received an at-large bid, only to lose in double overtime to Middle Tennessee.
Since the 2020-21 season, all league members have participated in a single tournament. Pensacola, Florida, will play host to the tournament at least through the 2024–25 season. Games in the first and second rounds will be held at both Hartsell Arena on the PSC campus and the Pensacola Bay Center, with the latter hosting the semifinals and championships.
