Street Corner Symphony Information
Street Corner Symphony is an American Cappella group from Nashville, Tennessee. The group’s current lineup consists of Armand Hutton, Kurt Zimmerman, Kaleb Jones, Jonathan Lister, and Jeremy Lister. They are best known as a contestant on NBC’s second season of The Sing-Off’s reality show. The group was formed in 2010 for the sole purpose of participating in The Sing-Off. All the members are from the several Southeastern United States, such as Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee.
Street Corner Symphony was originally formed on May 28, 2010, by Jon McLemore. The group ended up being the runners-up on the second season of NBC’s The Sing-Off. The show was aired for around three weeks, starting on December 6, 2010. SCS has also been featured in many commercial advertisements for the show. The band also has its record label called UnPractice Records. All of the group recordings have been released through this label.
In 2011, Street Corner Symphony released an album entitled, UnPractice Makes Perfect. The album included several cover songs such as “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Drift Away,” “Everything,” “Mad World,” “Dead Man’s Will,” and “Down on the Corner.” The band released another album which was composed of original songs written by the group. The album, Southern Autumn Nostalgia, was released on July 16, 2013. The group featured global guest artists including Voces8, Deke Sharon, Andrea Figallo, Tim Storms, The Swingle Singers, The King’s Singers, and Pentatonix.
