St Lawrence String Quartet Information
St. Lawrence String Quartet is a prominent chamber ensemble in Canada and one of the country's leading string quartets. The current lineup consists of Geoff Nuttall (first violin), Owen Dalby (second violin), Lesley Robertson (viola), and Christopher Costanza (cello). The Juilliard Quartet was created in 1989 and has held residencies at Yale University, University of Toronto, Hartt School, and Stanford University. The Quartet took first place in the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the Fourth Banff International String Quartet Competition in 1992.
For EMI, the Quartet released four CDs (containing Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Shostakovich, and Osvaldo Golijov's "Yiddishbuk," with a new Haydn CD in the works). John Adams, Derek Charke, Marcus Goddard, Elizabeth Raum, Brian Current, Hebert-Tremblay, Suzanne Hebert, David Bruce, Ezequiel Vinao, and Osvaldo Golijov were among the composers whose works the Quartet intended to premiere from 2008 to 2010.
