Spirit Adrift Information
Spirit Adrift is an American heavy metal band. The current lineup of the group consists of Nate Garrett. In 2015, after multi-instrumentalist and composer Nate Garrett had recently become sober, he began working on what would become Spirit Adrift. Chained to Oblivion, their debut full-length album, was recorded in 2015 and released in October. Their debut EP, Behind - Beyond, was released in February 2016. Due to the high demand for shows, Marcus Bryant, Jeff Owens, and Chase Mason established a complete band.
On May 15, 2017, Spirit Adrift debuted alongside Gatecreeper and Pallbearer at Phoenix, Arizona's The Rebel Lounge. Soon after, War Crime Recordings dropped a split with Khemmis. Traditional Appalachian tunes are given a heavy metal makeover titled Fraught with Peril in this split. On this album, Spirit Adrift reimagines Bob Dylan's "Man of Constant Sorrow."
Spirit Adrift's sophomore studio album, Curse of Conception, was released via 20 Buck Spin on October 6, 2017. After the album was released, the band toured the United States and Canada, playing at festivals like Decibel Metal & Beer Fest, Migration Fest, and Psycho Las Vegas. Critics praised the curse of Conception and even made it to number two on Decibel magazine's Best of 2017 list.
