The Soul Rebels is an American brass ensemble based in New Orleans. Since they have started, the group has collaborated live with some big names in the industry, including John Medeski, Galactic, Maceo Parker, Pete Rock, Umphrey’s McGee, Black Thought of The Roots, Prodigy (rapper), Katy Perry, Nas, Metallica, Green Day, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Rakim, Marilyn Manson, Slick Rick, Joey Badass, Robert Glasper, GZA, and Raekwon.
The Soul Rebels have appeared on CBS, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, HBO, TBS, NBC, NPR, ESPN, BBC Two, The CW, major motion pictures, and national and international venues. The band performs around 250 performances per year on average. They’ve been dubbed “the missing connection between Public Enemy and Louis Armstrong” by the Village Voice.
The Soul Rebels have toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and Brazil and performed at music festivals around the world, including the 2011 Montreal Jazz Festival in front of 50,000 people. The Soul Rebels were featured on BBC One’s The Andrew Marr Show on May 12, 2013. They performed “Off the Wall” by Michael Jackson.
