Smokepurpp Information
Omar Jeffery Pineiro (May 15, 1997) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and rapper who is professionally known as Smokepurpp. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Nashville with his family when he was three. Pineiro began his music career as a producer; a hobby picked up due to boredom. One of his friends, Lil Pump, brought Smokepurpp into rapping as well. According to Pineiro, his early musical influences include Lucki, Young Thug, Every Avenue, Taking Back Sunday, and Kanye West.
Smokepurpp originally started to pursue his music career while in high school, publishing his art on SoundCloud. In 2015, he released his first song on SoundCloud but deleted it quickly because it lacked quality. His first music video came out on September 23, 2014, entitled “It’s Nothing,” which collaborated with rapper Lil Ominous.
Smokepurpp signed a joint venture record deal with Alamo Records and Interscope Records in March 2017. On March 9, 2017, he announced his debut commercial mixtape on Twitter, “Deadstar.” Smokepurpp released his commercial debut single “Audi” in May 2017. Some of his follow-up notable studio albums include Deadstar 2 (December 13, 2019) and Florida Jit (June 19, 2020). He has also released a few EPs, Up Now Fuck Next (May 12, 2017), Lost Planet (April 19, 2019), and PSYCHO (Legally Insane) (February 12, 2021).
