Slaughter Information
Slaughter is an American rock band that was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada. The current lineup of the group includes Mark Slaughter (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, piano, and tambourine), Dana Strum (bass guitar and backing vocals), Jeff “Blando” Bland (lead guitar and backing vocals), and Blas Elias (drums and percussion). Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum founded the group in late 1988. The group completed its lineup initially in 1989 after recruiting drummer Blas Elias and lead guitarist Tim Kelly.
Slaughter released its debut album entitled “Stick It to Ya” on January 27, 1990. The album had three singles that hit the Billboard Hot 100 named “Fly to the Angels” (reached number 19), “Up All Night” (reached number 27), and “Spend My Life” (reached number 39). The group released its second album entitled “The Wild Life” on April 21, 1992, which reached number 8 on the US Billboard Top 200 Album Charts and certified with gold status.
In early 1994, Slaughter planned to record its third album, but they could not do so due to some internal issues with the members. The group has signed record deals with a few record labels, including Chrysalis, CMC International, Victor, and Capitol. The band’s other notable studio albums include Fear No Evil (May 2, 1995), Revolution (May 20, 1997), and Back to Reality (June 29, 1999). Some notable singles by Slaughter are “Days Gone By,” “Hard Times,” “Outta My Head,” and “American Pie.”
