Schoolboy Q, whose real name is Quincy Matthew Hanley, is an American rapper and songwriter. He was born on the 26th of October 1986 in the south region of Los Angeles, California. Schoolboy Q debuted in the year 2008 with his first mixtape called 'Schoolboy Turned Hustla.' At the time, Schoolboy Q had a contract with TDE. Soon after he released his first mixtape, he switched from TDE label to Top Dawg Entertainment in the year 2009. Growing up, Quincy was influenced by artists such as 50 Cent, Jay Z, and several others. Schoolboy Q's favorite rapper was Rapper Nas.
In 2017 Schoolboy Q announced that he would be releasing an album soon. But the release of the album was kept back due to the sudden death of a famous rapper and a close friend of Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller. He announced the title of his fifth album through Instagram 'CrasH Talk.' This album was released subsequently on the 26th of April, 2019. It took more or less three years to complete this album. This album of Schoolboy Q reached at number 3 for Billboard's Top 200. In the year 2014, Schoolboy Q was nominated for the BET Awards for Best New Artist.
