The Scary Pockets are a lively funk band from the Los Angeles music scene. Ryan Lerman and Jack Conte are the core of Scary Pockets, and a revolving door of top-notch musicians accompanies them.
During his twenties, Ryan Lerman toured the world as the bassist for American singer-songwriter Ben Folds. Besides working as a musical director for John Legend and a guitarist for Micheal Bublé, he has also performed with both artists. Amazing track record of success in the past. Jack Conte is an American musician, singer, songwriter, DJ, entrepreneur, and filmmaker who is the other half of the duo Scary Pockets. The consequences of a collaboration between these two musical geniuses, coupled with some of the top session players in the LA scene, are spectacular.
The band's covers range from "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys to "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley (the song in the video above). The filming of these wonderful musicians always does a fantastic job of capturing the energy and enthusiasm they bring to their performances. Every song that Scary Pockets covers get a dose of their funky sound, completely transforming the original into something new.
