Psyclon Nine Information
Psyclon Nine is an American band. The group's current lineup includes Todd Buller, Dante Phoenix, Jon Siren, and Nero Bellum. Inspired by groups like KMFDM and Ministry, Psyclon Nine was founded in 1999 when roommates Marshall Goppert and Josef Heresy formed a band called "Defkon Sodomy" to play industrial metal. After those two shows, the band rebranded itself as Psyclon Nine.
Zyklon B, the brand name of the hydrogen cyanide used in the gas chambers during the Holocaust, was misspelled in the name. Because of its numerological significance in Aleister Crowley's works, the number "Nine" was chosen. At this time, Marshall and Josef began performing under the aliases Josef Heresy and Nero Bellum, respectively. Bellum is Latin for "war," where Nero got his name.
Psyclon Nine played a special concert on October 30 featuring only Divine Infekt, INRI, and Crwn Thy Frnicatr tracks. They performed with label mates Dawn of Ashes for the first time in three years. The live performance of "Poisoning the Steps of Babel" by Dawn of Ashes featured Nero Bellum on vocals, as his verse from the album appears in the song. Bellum contributed harmony vocals to the chorus as well.
