Professor “Louie” & The Crowmatix is an American band that originated from Woodstock, New York. The current lineup consists of Aaron Professor “Louie” Hurwitz (Hammond organ, keyboards, accordion, and vocalist), Gary Burke (drums), Marie Spinosa (piano and percussion), Frank Campbell (bass), and Josh Colow (rhythm and blues guitarist). The group has been recording and touring nationally for the past seven years. In February 2008, the band released a new CD entitled “As The Crow Flies.” The group usually records their albums and CDs on Woodstock Records.
Professor “Louie” & The Crowmatix recorded its live concert CD entitled “The Spirit of Woodstock” at The New York State Museum. The group’s CD “Century Of The Blues” averaged at number 20 for over six months on the Americana Radio Roots charts. The band has also recorded as a backing band on Rick Danko’s critically acclaimed CD named “Times Like These.”
Professor “Louie” & The Crowmatix have been performing at reputable theatres across the country, including The State College Theatres, PA, Fairfield & Newtown, Bearsville Theatre in New York, Bolton Center, and Proctors. Some notable festivals include The Clermont & Norwich Heritage Festivals in New York and Toledo Blues Festival.
