Pink Turns Blue Information
Pink Turns Blue is a German post-punk band. The group's current lineup consists of Mic Jogwer, Paul Richter, and Luca Sammuri. Mic Jogwer collaborated with Brigid Anderson's band Violetta Superstar in April 2001 to produce three songs on a compilation CD (Die Fiesen Diven) released in October 2001. The two began working together musically, eventually forming the electronic duo Orden and releasing a few Demos.
Thomas Görnert, the manager of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, approached Mic Jogwer's band Pink Turns Blue in early 2003 and asked for a performance of Orden. Pink Turns Blue played at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in June of 2003 thanks to the efforts of Jogwer and Andersen, who coaxed Thomas Elbern, Reini Walter, and Louis Pavlou into a one-off Re-Union performance. After that, they got back together and headlined M'era Luna 2004.
Together with announcing their comeback, the band released a greatest hits album, Re-Union. Phoenix's seventh studio album, recorded in Berlin during the 2004–2005 winter, was mixed by Janez Kriaj in Ljubljana and was released in April of 2005. Three music publications (Sonic Seducer, Orkus, and Zillo) named it "album of the month," it stayed at #3 on the German Alternative Charts for eight weeks.
Ghost, the band's eighth album, was recorded in the same season (fall/winter 2006/2007) and released the following year (May 2007). The album debuted at number 37 on the annual German Alternative Charts and was launched at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2007.
