Tiffany Majette is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, professionally known by his stage name, Orion Sun. He came from a deeply religious family and spent his formative years in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The singing moved a young girl at Bethany Baptist Church. Majette joined a Philadelphia-based underground music collective known as The Forest, which disbanded after the untimely passing of one of its members.
2013 saw the upload of Majette's debut single, "Voicemail," to the video-sharing website. In 2017, she dropped the mixtape A Gathering of Ephemeral Moments and Daydreams. She dropped the songs "S T R E T C H" and "Nirvanaaa" in 2018. Her first full-length album, Hold Space for Me, was released through Mom + Pop in 2018. The album was described as "stark [and] gently poetic" by Pitchfork reviewer Dani Blum.
Majette penned "Mama's Baby" in 2020 after being hurt at a protest for racial justice in her community. Through the song's Bandcamp sales, she gathered nearly $18,000, which she then split between Breonna Taylor's GoFundMe and the Loveland Foundation.
