Their groundbreaking collaborations with top-tier performers and unique, genre-bending orchestral performances have drawn huge crowds. Established by two of the most sought-after names in classical music, Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken, the Nu Deco Ensemble is a versatile and forward-thinking hybrid orchestra that pays tribute to living composers, reimagines music in all its forms and works with a diverse roster of guests, including other musicians, dancers, choreographers, and mixed-media artists.
Nu Deco Ensemble works to serve and improve Miami's diverse culture and people by getting involved in the community in new and creative ways. The orchestra's participatory Imagination Series engages and inspires more than 10,000 kids yearly, and hundreds of others from underprivileged areas also attend performances.
The Nu Deco Youth Ensemble began its 2020 spring season with lessons in improvisation, composition, leadership, health, wellness, arranging, classical and popular music, leadership development, interpersonal skills, and community stewardship, among other topics.
