Nancy Wilson Information
Naney Lamoureax Wilson (March 16, 1954) is an American musician born in San Francisco, California. Wilson, a native Washingtonian who grew up in Bellevue, started making music young. She followed her sister, the new Heart vocalist, to college, where they both majored in music.
Heart, the first female-fronted hard rock band, issued multiple albums in the late '70s and '80s, including the platinum-selling Dreamboat Annie (1975) and Little Queen (1977), from which hit singles like "Magic Man," "Crazy on You," and "Barracuda" were taken.
Heart, published in 1985, and Bad Animals and Brigade, released in 1987 and 1990, were also commercially successful studio albums for the band. Over 35 million copies of Heart albums have been sold. Wilson's guitar playing has received praise for combining flamenco and classical guitar genres with heavy rock.
Gibson magazine placed Wilson at #8 on their list of the finest female guitarists of all time in 2016. She is also a talented singer in her own right, having sung lead on "These Dreams," Heart's first Billboard Hot 100 number-one single. Wilson and Heart were honored in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2013.
