Mvstermind Information
Mvstermind, a Saint Louis rapper and producer, rises above the city's outskirts by emulating the "do for self" mentality by learning to be musically self-sufficient and sharing his limited "wealth" (creative resources) with other musicians in the Saint Louis creative community. Mvstermind grew up surrounded by music and discovered his passion for it when his father bought home a demo version of FL Studios when he was 11 years old.
Mvstermind began producing for local artists after that, but he avoided the limelight despite his innate talent. Mvstermind didn't gain the confidence to go into the forefront until 2009, when he became the head of the Saint Louis music collective MME. Mvstermind. MME then went on to tour independently for nearly 20,000 miles, performing at festivals including A3C, SXSW, and Brooklyn's MCA Day and opening for musicians like Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper G-Eazy, and Curren$y until the collectives disbanded in 2016.
Mvstermind gained national prominence after his music video for "Mali Moolah," a song about visualizing money and self-worth, debuted on BET Jams, MTV, and Fuse Fm's Dope Sh!t. Mvstermind's first EP, "Cusp," was released in 2016 and reaffirmed Mvstermind's self-sufficient mindset by being self-produced, mixed, recorded, and mastered by Mvstermind.
