Municipal Waste Information
Municipal Waste is a crossover thrash band. The current lineup consists of Nick “Nikropolis” Poulos (lead guitar), Dave Witte (drums), Philip “Land Phil” Hall (bass and backing vocals), Ryan Waste (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), and Tony Foresta (lead vocals). Municipal Waste was formed in 2000 in Richmond, Virginia. In 2000–2001, Municipal Waste performed their first show at a Richmond New Year’s Eve Keg party. The band was accused of instigating a minor disturbance.
Crossover thrash bands such as D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, Animosity-era Corrosion of Conformity, Nuclear Assault, and Attitude Adjustment influenced the band’s sound. Municipal Waste toured the United States and Mexico in 2001 and 2002.
Municipal Waste signed with Earache Records in 2005 and recorded the Hazardous album Mutation. Municipal Waste shot a video for “Unleash the Bastards” in 2005 and 2006, containing both censored and uncensored versions.
Municipal Waste toured the United States with Destruction in June 2007 before getting into the studio to record the next album, The Art of Partying, with Hatebreed and Shadows Fall producer Zeuss. Following that, the band embarked on a headline tour of Europe, a tour with The Haunted, appearances at Wacken Open Air in Germany, and the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Municipal Waste released Massive Aggressive in 2009, followed by The Fatal Feast (2012) three years later and Slime and Punishment five years later (2017). On October 11, 2019, the band released The Last Rager’s E.PE.P.
