Mudvayne Information
Mudvayne (1996) is a heavy metal band from the United States. The present group members are Ryan Martinie, Chad Gray, Matthew McDonough, and Greg Tribbett. Mudvayne's first group comprises Chad Gray on vocals, Shawn Barclay on bass, Greg Tribbett on guitar, and Matthew McDonough on drums.
The band was formed in Peoria, Illinois. Gray worked in a mill and made $40,000 a year. He quit his job to become the band's lead singer. Mudvayne paid for their first E.P., Kill, I Oughta, on their own.
Chuck Toler made the band's first record, L.D. 50, which came out in the year 2000. Mudvayne made a sound collage just for the album and used it to make a series of segments on the album. Shawn Crahan of Slipknot and manager Steve Richards worked on L.D. 50 with the band and Garth Richardson as senior producers.
On April 19, 2021, Mudvayne announced their reunion and upcoming fall tour, during which they would perform at festivals including "Incarceration Music & Tattoo in Mansfield," "Aftershock in Sacramento," and "Welcome to Rockville in Florida." Concert promoter and festival organizer Danny Wimmer said that these would be the only live performances the band would play in 2021.
The band continued their reunion in the summer of 2022, playing festivals such as Upheaval in Grand Rapids and Rock Fest in Cadott before heading on their first U.S. tour in 13 years as co-headliners of Rob Zombie's Freaks on Parade tour. Gray's fall off the stage during a performance of "Not Falling" at the tour stop in Tampa made national news. Even Gray remarked on the irony, calling it "amazing" and "unbelievable" in humor.
