Motown Legends Information
The idea for "Legends of Motown" emerged in 2010 from "Baby Love," an homage to Motown Records' flagship group, The Supremes. All the hits from America's most popular singing group were sung in their original key and style.
David Callender, the band's musical director, has previously put on tribute shows ranging from rock and roll to the Rat Pack. Still, he didn't release his most valued performance in honor of The Supremes until he discovered the appropriate voices. Aria Zenua, the lead singer of "Diana," was discovered, and soon enough, the dream was a reality. Soon after, top R&B/soul vocalists like Erin Reece and Kenisha Humber were recruited to recreate the Supremes' signature sound.
The ladies of Baby Love had audiences everywhere humming to timeless tunes like "Where Did Our Love Go" and "Stop in the Name of Love," thanks to their stellar harmonies and charismatic performances. The concert featured not only an incredible Motown revue band that stood up to the plate to perfectly duplicate the studio magic made famous by the Funk Brothers but also real vocal performances by the Supremes.
