Meshuggah Information
Meshuggah is an extreme metal band from Umeå, established in 1987. It is a Swedish band. Lead singer Jens Kidman, guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake, and bassist Dick Lövgren make up the band's present lineup.
Since its founding, the group has released eight music videos, nine studio albums, and six EPs. Atomic Fire Records published their most recent album, Immutable, in April 2022.
Intricate polyrhythms and polymetered song structures characterize Meshuggah's groundbreaking sound. They achieved stardom as a major player in the underground metal scene, shaped the sound of contemporary metal acts, and developed a devoted fan base.
Rolling Stone named the band one of the top 10 heavy metal and hard rock acts of all time, while Alternative Press named them the most influential metal band ever. The band's music influenced the djent subgenre in the late aughts.
For their albums, obZen (2009) and Catch Thirtythree (2006), Meshuggah received two Swedish Grammis Award nominations, respectively. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2018 for "Best Metal Performance" for the song "Clockworks" by the band.
