Emekwanem Ogugua Biosah Jr. (March 29, 1990) is an American rapper. He was born in Houston, Texas. He is professionally known as Maxo Kream. Kream is of Nigerian ancestry, as his father is a Nigerian immigrant to the United States. Kream started rapping in high school with the Kream Clicc group. In 2012 he released a YouTube remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Rigamortus,” which gained popularity. Retro Card and Quicc Strikes were two of his early mixtapes. The mixtapes catapulted him into the spotlight, gaining over 85,000 downloads on LiveMixtapes.
XXL Magazine and Pitchfork, among others, gave his 2015 mixtape #Maxo187 positive reviews. In 2016, he released The Persona Tape as a follow-up. Punken, his debut album, was published in 2018. He got a deal with Roc Nation on June 27, 2019. Brandon Banks, his big label debut, was released on July 19, 2019, by Big Persona/88 Classic/RCA Records.
Kream’s notable singles include “Big Persona,” “She Live,” “Still,” “Meet Again,” “Mars,” “Bussdonw,” Grannies,” “Shop,” and “Out the Door,” “Thirteen,” and “Cell Boomin.”
