Marcus King Band Information
The Marcus King Band is a blues-rock/southern rock band from South Carolina that originated in 2013. Marcus King, who himself is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, leads the group. King was raised in Greenville, South Carolina. The band consists of five current members, including Dean Mitchell (saxophone), Justin Johnson (trombone and trumpet), Matt Jennings (keyboard), Jack Ryan (drums), and Stephen Campbell (base).
The Marcus King Band released their first album “Soul Insight” on October 30, 2015. The album was published under the Evil Teen Records of Warren Haynes, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. The “Soul Insight” grabbed an instant success.
The Marcus King Band released their debut album on Fantasy Records and their second full-length LP “The Marcus King Band,” on October 7, 2016. Warren Haynes was the producer for this album, and it was recorded at Carriage House Studio in Stamford, Connecticut. The band’s `''The Marcus King Band” also reached the top, hitting the no.2 spot on the Billboard Blues Album Chart.
On October 5, 2018, The Marcus King Band released their third full-length LP “Carolina Confessions.” This release by the album was announced on August 22, 2018. The album was produced and mixed by Dave Cobb, whereas the recording was done at RCA Studio A in Nashville. Carolina Confessions made its first entry on US Top Current Album and reached no.55, along with hitting position no.2 once again on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. The album also reached no.2 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
The only single by the band named “Homesick” was released in 2018, and reached no.26 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart. In 2017, the band released their only EP “Due to North EP” which hit the no.2 spot on Billboard Blues Album Chart.
