Malevolent Creation Information
Malevolent Creation is a death metal band. The group's current lineup consists of Deron Miller, Ron Parmer, Josh Gibbs, and Phil Fasciana. A year after its formation, the band relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where it quickly became an integral part of the burgeoning local death metal scene, signing with Roadrunner Records and shaping the distinctive Florida death metal sound.
Their 1991 debut album, The Ten Commandments, gained inspiration from bands like Slayer, Kreator, Possessed, Onslaught, Obituary, and Death. It is now considered a classic of the death metal subgenre. 2014 Malevolent Creation inked a worldwide recording contract with Century Media Records. Dead Man's Path, their 12th studio album, came out in October 2015. It was announced in September 2016 that the band had disbanded due to the departure of longtime bassist Jason Blachowicz and the postponement of the group's impending U.S. tour.
All but Phil Fasciana have now departed the group. The comeback of Malevolent Creation, complete with a new lineup and an album set for release in 2018, was announced in November 2017. The original singer, Bret Hoffmann, died of colon cancer on July 7th, 2018, at 51. CKY's former frontman Deron Miller became the band's new lead singer and guitarist in October 2022.
