Livingston Taylor Information
Livingston Taylor (November 21, 1950) is an American folk musician and singer-songwriter Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in North Carolina. Taylor built a repertoire of folk songs at an early age having all of his siblings being passionate about writing songs due to their mother. At the age of eight, Taylor moved to Europe, along with his mother and other siblings. At the age of 13, he was primarily inspired to be a musician due to his elder brother Alex. By the age of 17, Taylor became quite accomplished.
Livingston Taylor music is defined as pop, folk, and gospel. In 1963, he began playing music in public as a professional. He was a part of a folk trio with singer Kim Packer and guitarist Paul Collins. In 1966, his first serious attempt at songwriting turned out during his time in secondary school education at McLean's Arlington School. "I'm Searching for a Miracle" was the first song by Taylor that, according to him, was "terrible." His second attempt was a song titled "Good Friends."
Livingston Taylor was the debut album by Taylor that was released in 1970, via Capricorn Records. A song included in this album, "Carolina Day," peaked at number 93 on the Billboard Top-100 chart. In 1971 Liv was the following album, 1973 Over the Rainbow, 1980 Man's Best Friend, 1998 Carolina Day: The Livingston Taylor Collection, 2005 The Best of Livingston Taylor, and many more. A few of his hit singles are Get Out Of Bed; I Will Be in Love With You, I'll Come Running, and First Time Love.
