Lacey Sturm Information
Lacey Nicole Sturm is a singer-songwriter born in Homestead, Florida, and raised in Arlington, Texas. She is also a co-founder and former lead vocalist of the hard rock band named Flyleaf. Sturm was the first solo female artist to top the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart in February 2016 with her debut release entitled “Life Screams.” She began her career by playing with drummer James Culpepper in 2000. They both worked with guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya.
Sturm has made several notable guest appearances throughout her career. She provided backing vocals on “Born Again” and “Run to You” for the Christian rock band named Third Day for their 2008 album entitled Revelation. She also received two Grammy nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards for her work with the group. Sturm also worked with Apocalyptica on their song “Broken Pieces.”
Her debut solo album “Life Screams” reached number 74 on the Billboard 200, number 7 on Alternative Albums, number 8 on Top Rock Albums, and number 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums. She went on a tour with American hard rock band Letters from the Fire in 2017. In 2018, Sturm toured with Messer, Red, and Righteous Vendetta.
Sturm has played a role in the worldwide video of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association entitled “The Cross," released in November 2013. She has also been involved with Hot Topic, where she did modeling for their clothing line, LOVEsick. Her notable solo singles include “You’re Not Alone,” “The Return,” and “The Decree."
