Knotfest Information
Knotfest is a music event founded in 2012 by Slipknot, an American heavy metal band. Apart from Slipknot, other Knotfest performances have included Prayers, Prong, Deadly Apples, Amen, Butcher Babies, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, and Bring Me The Horizon. On June 4, 2012, Knotfest was officially announced.
Knotfest first took place on August 17, 2012, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and August 18, 2012, in Somerset, Wisconsin, a two-city event. Deftones, Cannibal Corpse, and Lamb of God were among the bands on the bill. On March 24, 2014, it was officially confirmed that "Knotfest Japan" would occur at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on November 15 and 16.
Knotfest 2014 was announced as the Mayhem Festival 2014, and it would take place on October 24–26 at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California. Knotfest 2015 was scheduled from October 23 to 25, 2015, at the same venue. The festival was hosted in the United Kingdom in 2020, according to an announcement made in December 2019.
Knotfest headliners were In Flames, Papa Roach, Bring Me the Horizon, Trivium, Five Finger Death Punch, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Lamb of God, and Slipknot. On July 11, 2020, Slipknot announced that their final performance at Knotfest will be streamed via a pay-per-view streaming service.
