Kim Waters Information
Kim Waters is a Maryland-born saxophonist who is popular for being a gifted performer. He was born in Havre De Grace, MD, and is well-known for his romantic, crossover jazz style that is influenced by both bluesy jazz and soulful R&B. Water made his debut in 1989 with Sweet and Saxy. His music style is defined as smooth jazz, contemporary jazz, jazz instrument, and saxophone jazz.
Waters has released many albums such as 1991's Sax Appeal, 1994's It's Time for Love, 1993's Peaceful Journey, 1998's Love's Melody, and 1999's One Special Moment. He released From the Heart in 2001, which was his first of several albums on Shanachie Records. The album was followed by 2002's Someone to Love You, 2007's You Are My Lady, 2004's In the Name of Love, and 2008's homage to Marvin Gaye, I Want You: Love in the Spirit of Marvin. He also produced feature covers of R. Kelly's "Love Letter" and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind."
Water moved to Red River Entertainment for his next album, My Loves. This album included guest appearances from vocalists Glenn Jones and Waters' wife, Dana Pope. His next album was Silver Soul, in which Pope was once again featured. Some of his other notable albums are My Gift to You 2015, Rhythm and Romance 2016, and What I Like 2018.
