Jordan Officer (1976) is a Canadian guitarist who plays country, blues, and jazz music. He was born in Montreal, Quebec. Before reaching the age of fourteen, he played drums and violin but later switched to guitar. He used to perform with blues bands in clubs, and that’s also how he met Susie Arioli, a Canadian jazz singer. Officer often works with singer Susie Arioli, who also played the snare drum. The two added a bassist to their crew and formed a trio performed in various clubs and bars.
Jordan Officer’s trio began to open shows for Ray Charles at the Montreal Jazz Festival. According to Officer himself, Charlie Christian has a huge influence on his musical career. He has played mandolin with an opera singer, Nils Brown, and collaborated with blues musician Stephen Barry.
Officer has released many hit albums as a solo artist, including Jordan Officer (2010), Victor Sessions (2013), Blue Skies (2014), I’m Free (2015), and Three Rivers (2018). His collaborations with Susie Arioli for many years resulted in the following: All the Way (2012), Christmas Dreaming (2010), Live at the Montreal International Jazz Festival (2007), Learn to Smile Again (2005), That’s for Me (2004), Pennies for Heaven (2001), and It’s Wonderful (2001).
