Joanna Noëlle Levesque (December 20, 1990) is known professionally as JoJo. She is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. JoJo is from Brattleboro, Vermont, while she was raised in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and Keene, New Hampshire. She owns a French family background. Her stage name is her childhood nickname. JoJo began singing when she was only two years old. She enjoyed going to native American festivals and used to act locally in various professional theatres.

JoJo appeared on Kids Say the Darndest Things: On the Road in Boston, an American television show along with American comedian and actor Bill Cosby. There she sang a song by the famous singer Cher. She also got contracted by The Oprah Winfrey Show, where she performed. Later, JoJo also performed on Maury in one of the "kids-with-talent" episodes.
After appearing in many shows at a very young age, she competed in many mega television shows, including America's Most Talented Kids (but she lost to Diana DeGarmo). She officially got signed to Blackground Records by Barry Hankerson. Joanna Levesque was a live demo by JoJo, which was recorded in 2001. It included covers from Mack Rice's 1965 "Mustang Sally," Aretha Franklin's 1968 "Chain of Fools," Etta James's "It Ain't Always What You Do (It's Who You Let See You Do It)," and a few more.

"Leave (Get Out)" was the debut single by JoJo released in 2004. The single got gold-certification. JoJo went on a big tour for the promotion of her debut single along with pop-rock singer Fefe Dobson, alternative metal band Zebrahead, and a few more. Some of the other past tours by her are The High Road Tour (2007), The Agápe Tour (2013), Mad Love Tour (2017), Leaks, Covers, and Mixtapes Tour (2018), and many more.
JoJo earned many awards and nominations throughout her career. Some of the major awards are Radio Disney Music Awards 2004 and 2006, Boston Music Awards, Hollywood Life 9th Annual Young Hollywood Awards 2007, Yahoo Music Awards 2008, and many nominations as well.
