Jeremiah Johnson Band Information
Jeremiah Johnson Band is a St. Louis Blues, southern rock, and country band that was founded in St. Louis in 2009 by an American blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter Jeremiah Johnson. At the age of four, Johnson had ukulele lessons, and in his late teens, he started taking the guitar more seriously. He used to concentrate originally on jazz while being at college and met blues playing musicians in Soulard. Johnson won the St. Louis Blues Society International Blues Challenge and successfully made it to the semi-finals to represent St. Louis in Memphis, Tennessee.
After the creation of the Jeremiah Johnson Band, 9th & Russell was released in November 2010 via CD Baby. The music for this album was not only backed by the Jeremiah Johnson Band but also by the Sliders. The latter is one of the hit horn sections, which consists of Jim Rosse (trumpet) and Stuart Williams (saxophone). They are the long-term performers on the R&B circuit and the St. Louis blues. They have played in Johnnie Johnson's band and toured with Bob Weir and Little Feat.
Brand Spank'n Blue was another joint follow-up effort, which was released in 2011 on CD Baby. Blues Heart Attack was an album released by Jeremiah Johnson Band under Connor Ray Music in 2016. The current lineup of the group consists of Jeremiah Johnson - guitar and vocals, Benet Schaeffer – drums, Frank Bauer - tenor saxophone, Tony Anthonis - bass guitar, and Tony Antonelli - Percussion and backing vocals.
