Jeff Lober Trio Information
Jeff Lorber Fusion's first album was published in 1977 under that name. Their album Wizard Island from 1980 featured an unheralded Kenny G. at the time. The group became one of the top jazz acts overnight, and they have been on the road ever since. It's A Fact was Lorber's first album as a solo artist, released in 1982. In 1985, the radio song "Pacific Coast Highway" from the album Step By Step earned him a Grammy nomination.
West Side Stories (1994), State of Grace (1996), and Midnight Rose (2000) are just a few of Lorber's many critically acclaimed 90s releases. (1998). Lorber was also busy during this period with the likes of Michael Franks, Richard Elliot, Gerald Albright, and Rick Braun.
Kickin' It (2001), Philly Style (2003), Flipside (2005), He Had A Hat (2007, Grammy nominated) and Heard That (2008, Grammy nominated), Now Is The Time (2010, Grammy nominated), Galaxy (2012, Grammy nominated), Hacienda (2013, Grammy nominated), and Step It Up (2015, Grammy nominated) were just some of the many acclaimed albums by the prolific pianist.
Lorber's earliest recordings were for Shanachie, on the albums Jazz Funk Soul and the Grammy-nominated More Serious Business, with the late, great guitarist Chuck Loeb and saxophonist Everette Harp.
